GPS art depicts “Saitama Pose” in a bedroom town in southern Saitama Prefecture✨
November 14 is Saitama Citizens’ Day! This is a course where you can draw “Saitama Pose” with GPS art, which is what you should do if you are a resident of Saitama Prefecture.
This course depicts Wako, a bedroom town in the southern part of Saitama Prefecture. During the Edo period(1603-1867), the city prospered as a post station on the Kawagoe Kaido highway. After the Meiji period (1868-1912), the area became desolate due to the construction of the railroad, but developed as a suburban farming village supplying vegetables to Tokyo. During the Showa Period (1926-1989), the area became a bedroom community, with a forest of housing complexes and many companies moving into the area. Research institutes such as Honda Motor Co. and the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research also relocated to the area.
You can see the history of the city that has changed with the times. We hope you will try it instead of sightseeing in Saitama!
