GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Hyogo Prefecture’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for “dragon (龍),” the animal of the Chinese zodiac, around Seiryu-jinja Shrine, a Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot in Hyogo Prefecture that is associated with dragons.
Seiryu-jinja Shrine in Akashi City has a very fine dragon decoration on the main shrine. The shrine has a long history, having been built in the Kamakura period (1185-1333). Ruins from the Jomon period have been found in the precincts of the shrine, indicating that people have been living there since even more ancient times.
Although it is a popular spot for worshippers, it is expected to be very crowded in 2024, the year of the dragon. Please try to visit as a New Year’s visit to avoid the density🐉✨
