GPS art of the place name “Kawaguchi” drawn in Kawaguchi City✨
This is a series of GPS art courses that draw the place name “Kawaguchi” in Kawaguchi City, Saitama.
The name of Kawaguchi is said to have originated from its location facing the mouth of the former Iruma River (present-day Arakawa River). The town’s industry developed in a way that supported the development of Edo (present-day Tokyo), including the planting of trees after the Great Fire of Edo, as well as the casting, weaving, and fishing rod industries. It also flourished as an inn on the Nikko Onari Kaido road, and in the movie “Fly me to the Saitama,” it functioned as a barrier on the prefectural border, and no one could enter the city without a passport.
This course depicts a tour around the downtown area between Kawaguchi Station and Kawaguchi Motogo Station. Once vast fields and wetlands, the landscape has been transformed by the railroad. There are no unnecessary turns and the distance is short. It is just right for a short walk or sightseeing, so we encourage beginners to try it.
