GPS art of demons, drawn in the land of demons✨
Fuku wa uchi! This is a GPS art course where you can draw demons on places named after demons.
This GPS art depicts Kiganji (鬼岩寺) in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Kiganji Temple, a temple said to have been founded by Gyoki Shonin in 726, is located on a mountain in this area. The name of the temple derives from a huge rock and rock pit called Oniwa (鬼岩), which is located on the mountain behind the temple, and is said to be the rock pit where Kobo Daishi Kukai sealed away demons that were tormenting people. The “Oni-kakiishi,” or devil’s scratch stone, is enshrined in the temple grounds and is said to be the mark where the devil sharpened his claws.
