Draw “HOT” GPS Art in Central Takamatsu – Around Furubacho✨
Takamatsu, located in Japan’s Shikoku region, is known for its high summer temperatures due to its basin-like geography and proximity to the Seto Inland Sea. In this 5km GPS art course, you’ll walk through the city center—around Furubacho—to draw the word “HOT.” Despite the heat, the short course makes it enjoyable and accessible for all walkers.
Starting near Takamatsu City Hall, the route takes you through the nostalgic Furubacho shopping street and toward the cityscape connecting to Ritsurin Garden and Yashima. Once a bustling merchant district under Takamatsu Castle, Furubacho remains vibrant today with retro shops, long-standing eateries, and charming cafés. Walking here offers a unique glimpse into local life and history.
Takamatsu has a rich history dating back to the Muromachi period and flourished as a port town. Its proximity to the Seto Inland Sea gives it a calm, scenic atmosphere. The area is also known for easy access to Kotoden Kawaramachi and numerous Sanuki udon shops, making for a culturally rich walking experience.
This “HOT” GPS art course is not just a playful celebration of summer heat—it’s a chance to explore Takamatsu’s history, culture, cuisine, and charm, all while creating your own artwork on the map. It’s a new kind of sightseeing experience that turns the summer heat into part of the fun.
