🎃 Halloween Special: “The Great Ghost” GPS Art in Uji 👻
Celebrate Halloween in a truly unique way with a spectacular GPS art route set in the ancient city of Uji, Kyoto! Spanning approximately 9 kilometers, this course traces an adorable “Great Ghost” as you journey through one of Japan’s most historic and scenic areas.
Starting near JR Uji Station and Kintetsu Ogura Station, the route passes landmarks such as Uji City Hall, the Industrial Hall, and the beautiful Uji City Botanical Garden. Along the way, you’ll also visit sacred sites including Shinmei Shrine, Shinkaji Kinkou Benzaiten Temple, and Shimoiji Shrine — each rich with spiritual heritage and surrounded by seasonal beauty.
Uji, famed for its world heritage site Byodoin Temple and the flowing Uji River, has long been celebrated for its tea culture and classical atmosphere. This GPS art course invites participants to rediscover Uji’s timeless charm while adding a modern creative twist.
