GPS art at cherry blossom viewing spots along the Sumida River✨
GPS art of cherry blossoms in Sumida Park, one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo.
Sumida Park is a park along the Sumida River straddling Taito and Sumida wards of Tokyo, and is known as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo. The park is lined with historical cherry trees that Yoshimune Tokugawa encouraged to be planted in the Edo period (1603-1867). 300 cherry trees on the Sumida-ward side and 600 someiyoshino trees on the opposite bank in Taito ward are in full bloom. The cherry blossom view with the Sky Tree in the background is exceptional and attracts many cherry blossom viewers. At night, the trees are illuminated, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
The cherry blossoms are usually at their peak from mid-March to early April, when the “Sumida Park Cherry Blossom Festival” is held. Lined with food boats and stalls, the festival is a lively springtime tradition. There are also many famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan, making this GPS art to enjoy the best sightseeing in Tokyo🌸
