GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Hiroshima’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for “dragon (龍),” the animal of the Chinese zodiac, in the vicinity of Ryugeji Temple, a spot in Okayama Prefecture associated with dragons.
Ryugeji Temple, located in Yagi, Asaminami Ward, Hiroshima City, has a waterhole called Gokiroureisui. Legend has it that a warlord who was blinded by a dragon’s curse washed his eyes and was able to see again. There is also a waterfall in the precincts of the shrine, and “Goryosui,” which is said to have cured a dragon’s eye disease, gushes out from it. This waterfall and the Goreisui together are called “Otaki-san” (meaning “waterfall” in Japanese).
Since 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, Ryuukakuji Temple may become a popular Hatsumode spot. Please try it as a sightseeing tour to avoid the density 🐉✨
