🎃 Halloween Fun at the Foot of Mt. Fuji! GPS Art of a Ghost & Jack-o’-Lantern 👻
This Halloween season, we invite you to enjoy a unique GPS art course in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture! Covering approximately 20 kilometers, the route lets you “draw” a cute ghost and a Jack-o’-Lantern while running or walking through the city at the foot of Japan’s most iconic mountain.
Starting from Fujisan Station, the course passes through Gekkoji Station and Shimoyoshida Station on the Fujikyu Railway line. Along the way, you’ll encounter the famous Kanadorii, a majestic torii gate framing the view of Mt. Fuji, as well as historic spots like Shofukuji Temple and Komitake Asama Shrine (Shimo-no-miya). You’ll also stroll through the nostalgic Fujiyoshida Retro Shopping Street, where the Showa-era atmosphere blends perfectly with the festive Halloween spirit.
Fujiyoshida is renowned as a gateway to Mt. Fuji, offering clear air and spectacular mountain views. Running here means experiencing the majestic presence of Mt. Fuji in the background—an unforgettable sight unique to this area. As the course progresses, you’ll move between shrines, temples, and charming streets, and eventually, your GPS device will reveal the delightful figures of a ghost and a pumpkin.
This course is not just about fitness, but also about discovering the culture, history, and local character of Fujiyoshida. With each step, you’ll connect with the city’s rich traditions, while at the same time celebrating the playful joy of Halloween.
Whether you’re a runner, walker, or GPS art enthusiast, this special course offers the perfect fusion of sightseeing and seasonal fun. Create your very own “running Halloween” at the foot of Mt. Fuji and take home memories as unique as the artwork you’ve drawn!
