GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Nagano’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese zodiac animal “dragon (龍)” around Zenkouji Temple, a spot in Nagano Prefecture with a connection to dragons.
Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City has an amulet called “Kachimamori Ryuou (勝守龍凰),” which is designed with a dragon and a phoenix. The dragon and phoenix, symbols of good luck, are designed with the word “Katsumamori (勝守)” in the center and the word “Zenkoji (善光寺)” on the back, and were the talk of the town when the members of the 2013 WBC Samurai Japan (Japan’s national baseball team) wore matching charms.
Zenkoji Daikojin also produces red seals with the motif of “Tatsu” (dragon), the Chinese zodiac sign for the year 2024.
Since 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, Zenkoji may become a popular Hatsumode spot. Please try it as a sightseeing tour to avoid the density 🐉✨.
