GPS art of a dragon drawn at Nagoya’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for “dragon(龍),” the animal of the Chinese zodiac, around Takamu Shrine, a Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot in Nagoya that has a connection with dragons.
Takamu Shrine has a branch called “Takamu Ryu Shrine” located next to the hand-watering basin. It is believed that a dragon is enshrined at this shrine.
The deities are Takamimusubi no Kami and Kami-musubi no Kami, both of whom are deities of the “Musubi faith. They are said to bring good luck in marriage and love.
The fresh water on the temple grounds is called “Koi (love) water” and is said to bring forth love and longevity.
Although this is a popular spot for worshippers, large crowds are expected in the year of the dragon (2024). Please try to avoid the crowds by paying a visit to the temple on the first day of the year 🐉✨
