GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Fukui’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for the Chinese zodiac animal “dragon (龍)” in the vicinity of Keya Kurotatsu Shrine, a Hatsumode spot in Fukui Prefecture that has a connection with dragons.
There is a mountain called Kuroryuzan (Mt. Kuroryu) at Keya Kuroryu Shrine, where there is a “Ryu-ana (dragon hole)”. It is said that the waves of the Kuroryu-sama (the black dragon) gush out from this dragon hole. It was founded as the guardian deity of the Kuzuryu River, and is considered one of the four great ancient Japanese deities. It is considered a shrine for warding off evil spirits, improving vitality, praying for the birth of a child and safe delivery, and for prosperous business.
The shrine boasts the highest number of worshippers in Saitama Prefecture, and is expected to be very crowded. Please try to visit the shrine as a Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) to avoid the crowds 🐉✨
