Yamada Udon is a restaurant chain whose trademark is “Yajirobe,” a scarecrow motif. Yamada Udon operates about 150 restaurants mainly in Saitama Prefecture, and many of them are roadside restaurants. Some stores have original menus, making them unique even within the same franchise. Many Saitama Prefecture residents mistakenly believe that it is a nationwide chain, and some are shocked when they go outside the prefecture.
