Snail-Shaped GPS Art Along the Riverside at Komae Mizube no Gakkō in Tama River🐌
This approximately 5km GPS art route allows you to draw a “snail” by walking around Komae Mizube no Gakkō and its surrounding area in Komae City, Tokyo. As you stroll along the serene riverside of the Tama River, you can enjoy the relaxing flow of the water and the lush greenery. In early summer, you can also admire the hydrangeas in bloom. This course offers a peaceful and healing experience, where you can enjoy both riverside scenery and the fun of completing a snail-shaped route.
Komae Mizube no Gakkō is a riverside learning space designed for children to engage with and learn about the waterfront environment, and it is beloved by local residents. Located along the riverbed of the Tama River, the area has a history of being used for agricultural irrigation. Today, it serves as a hub for nature observation, river play, and environmental education, with diverse ecosystems including wetlands, grasslands, and riverbanks.
