Walk the “HOT” Route! GPS Art from Hatoyama Town Hall✨
On August 5, 2025, Hatoyama Town in Saitama Prefecture marked an astonishing 41.4℃, one of Japan’s highest recorded temperatures. To commemorate this blazing day, here’s an 8km GPS art route that lets you draw the word “HOT” as you walk!
The course begins near Hatoyama Town Hall, nestled in the rolling hills of the Musashino region. As you follow the path, the letters H-O-T gradually take shape on your map. Along the way, you’ll pass through Hatoyama’s signature rural landscapes—lush rice paddies, orchards, and gentle breezes that bring welcome relief in the summer heat.
Historically a thriving farming community since the Edo period, Hatoyama retains its traditional culture and village atmosphere. In recent years, the area has also gained attention as a hub for art and local culture, with cozy cafés, galleries, and handmade specialties enriching the townscape.
This short yet refreshing 8km walk combines natural beauty, cultural heritage, and creative fun. Step into the summer heat and leave behind your footprints in the shape of “HOT”—a unique art stroll only Hatoyama can offer!
