🌸 Legends of Mt. Shippo and Sakura: A 14km course via Fudo Falls 🌸
Experience the spiritual and natural wonders of Mitoyo City, Kagawa, by creating a 14km Sakura GPS art. This course centers on Fudo no Taki Country Park, located at the foot of Mt. Shippo—a mountain legendary for being the site where the great monk Kobo Daishi buried seven treasures. The park’s namesake, Fudo Falls, is a magnificent 50-meter waterfall that plunges down a sheer cliff. During spring, approximately 300 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees decorate the V-shaped valley, creating one of the most picturesque scenes in the Sanuki region.
The journey begins near Motoyama Station on the JR Yosan Line, leading you through peaceful rural landscapes that define rural Kagawa. As you trace the delicate petals of the cherry blossom, you will pass Hato Hachiman Shrine, a local spiritual landmark. The area surrounding the falls is a protected green zone, allowing you to breathe in the fresh mountain air mixed with the sweet scent of blossoms.
Fudo no Taki Country Park is not just a scenic spot; it is a lively community hub featuring pat golf, grass lawns, and family zones. This course offers a harmonious blend of historical romance, spiritual energy, and outdoor leisure. Whether you are navigating the foothills of Mt. Shippo or resting by the cool mist of the waterfall, every step connects you to the deep heritage of Shikoku.
Upon completing this course, a digital cherry blossom will bloom on your map, mirroring the real flowers that frame the majestic Fudo Falls. Lace up your shoes and embark on this refreshing journey through a landscape where legend and beauty intertwine.
