GPS Art “C” on the Eastern Shore of Shin-Urayasu✨
International cooperation by GPS art of “C” onto Shin-Urayasu! From March 8 (Saturday) to May 31 (Saturday), 2025, a new project of “Walk in Her Shoes 2025”, “Let’s Walk and Draw “C” on the Earth! Let’s start GPS art!
Walk in Her Shoes 2025″ is an international cooperation program to raise awareness about global water issues and the current situation of women and girls in developing countries by simply walking at a time and place of your choice. Let’s draw the “C” of CARE with GPS art and send it to the world!
This 9km-long “C” course traces the waterfront of Shin-Urayasu, an area developed on reclaimed land along Tokyo Bay. The area is known for its wide streets, coastal parks, and beautiful waterfront promenades, creating an urban yet nature-filled environment. It is also conveniently accessible from central Tokyo, making it a popular residential area.
Historically, Urayasu was a fishing village known for seaweed harvesting and clamming, but it transformed rapidly with the development of the Tokyo Bay area in the 20th century. The area gained particular attention after the opening of Tokyo Disney Resort in the 1980s, and it has since become a symbol of urban planning and development.
Along the route, participants can enjoy views of Tokyo Bay, public art installations, and seaside parks such as Total Recreation Park. The breeze from the sea and the expansive view of the bay provide an uplifting atmosphere to this walk. This GPS art not only promotes awareness of global gender issues but also allows participants to experience the charm of a modern coastal city.
This year, by walking or running and leaving a trail of the “C” of CARE and posting the saved GPS image on Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram with the two hashtags “#Walking for InternationalCooperation2025” and “#GPSArt,” you can donate 100 yen.
