GPS art of demons, drawn in the land of demons✨
Fuku wa uchi! This is a GPS art course where you can draw demons on “places named after demons.
GPS art depicting Onigakubo (鬼ケ窪) in Tsukubamirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The origin of the name Onigakubo is not certain, but it is said to have been changed to Oni from a hollow in the former Yatabe Village. The hollows are often flooded, and the terrain is often named after oni (鬼: demons).
A unique call at the Setsubun festival passed down in this area is: “There is there, here is here, it’s the New Year’s Eve in Onigakubo.” The call is meant to call the ogres to come to the area, feeling sorry for the ogres after being driven out from here and there.
