GPS art of a snake, drawn at a Hatsumode spot in Okayama🐍✨
This GPS art course takes visitors to the area around Okita Shrine, a famous Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot in Okayama Prefecture, where you can draw a snake, the animal of the Chinese zodiac.
There is a legend about a white snake at Dotsugu of Okita Shrine in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture: In 1582, when Chokuro, the second son of the lord of Bitchu Takamatsu Castle, prayed, a white snake appeared and protected him while leading him to Mount Mitaki, from which he fled. Later, Dotsugu was enshrined as the town’s Shinto shrine. Many snake designs can be seen in the hall of worship and the main shrine.
In 2025, Okita Shrine may become another popular spot. Please try it during your first visit to the shrine🐍✨
