GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Miyazaki’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for the Chinese zodiac animal “dragon (龍)” around Omi Jinja Shrine, a spot in Miyazaki Prefecture that has a connection with dragons.
Omi Jinja Shrine in Hyuga City is dedicated to the belief in the dragon god. The shrine is an ancient shrine dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, also known as “Ise-sama of Hyuga” (the Ise Shrine of Hyuga). At the far east end of the shrine grounds is the Udo Shrine, and if you stand at the shrine and look at the entrance, you can see a rising dragon.
Since 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, the Omi Jinja Shrine may become a popular Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot. Please try it as a sightseeing tour to avoid the density 🐉✨
