安堵町～川西町の一帯に「貝ぼたん」を描きます。
ここの地場産業・貝ぼたんは、海がないのに全国トップシェアを誇ります。

かつて木綿織物や養蚕業が盛んだったのですが、全国的に競合が増えたため衰退、
明治後期に農家の副業として欧州から神戸を経由して伝わりました。
近年はより安価な合成樹脂製ぼたんの台頭により衰退の一途を辿っていますが、
天然素材や本物志向のトレンドに乗り再認識されています。

Local industry, shell button is the top share in Japan even if there is no sea.

In the past, cotton fabrics and sericulture were the mail industries, however the number of rival was growing and it declined.

Then the now-how to produce shell button was brought from Europe via Kobe as a sideline of farmers in the late Meiji era.
Nowadays, although it has been in decline due to the rise of cheaper plastic buttons, it has been re-recognized by trends of natural materials and intention for real thing.
