🎃 Perfect for Halloween! “Ghost” GPS Art through Central Sendai 👻
Get into the Halloween spirit with a unique GPS art course set in the heart of Sendai! This 15km route begins near Miyaginohara Station and guides you past landmarks such as Rakuten Mobile Park, Athlete Park, and other sports facilities, while drawing an adorable “ghost” across the city map. Along the way, you’ll encounter cultural treasures like Tsutsujigaoka Tenmangu Shrine—dedicated to the deity of learning—and the historic Mutsu Kokubunji Yakushidō, founded in the Nara period. The route also passes near the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Sendai Garrison, adding a glimpse of contemporary life alongside centuries of tradition.
Sendai, known as the “City of Trees,” is the largest urban center in Tohoku, yet it harmoniously blends modern cityscapes with abundant greenery such as the Hirose River and Aoba Mountain. Founded as a castle town by the legendary warlord Date Masamune, Sendai continues to thrive as a hub of culture, economy, and sports. This course captures the essence of the city’s charm: running through vibrant neighborhoods, exploring historical sites, and sketching a playful ghost across your GPS map.
Whether you’re a runner, walker, or explorer, this GPS art course offers a festive way to celebrate Halloween while discovering the history and beauty of Sendai.
