GPS art of a dragon drawn at one of Fukushima’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐉✨
This GPS art course allows visitors to draw the Chinese character for “dragon (龍),” the animal of the Chinese zodiac, around Ryuko-ji Temple, a Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot in Fukushima Prefecture that is associated with dragons.
Ryukoji Temple in Aizu Misato-cho preserves cultural assets such as the National Treasure “Ichiji Rendai Hokkekyo Kaiketsu” and the “Ryokai Mandala” designated as an important cultural asset by Fukushima Prefecture. The temple is said to have been founded by the great priest Jikaku during the Kasho era (848-850). It is said that Tenkai High Priestess Tenkai was ordained, and the graves of her parents are on the temple grounds.
The course will also pass Isasumi Shrine, one of the most popular Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spots in Fukushima Prefecture.
Since 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, Ryuuko-ji Temple may become a popular Hatsumode spot. Please try it as a Hatsumode that avoids the density 🐉✨.
