The first GPS art I’m creating in Aomori Prefecture is the Aomori-Hakodate Ferry 🛳️, a symbol representing Aomori famous for the song “Tsugaru Kaikyo Fuyugeshiki” (Winter Scenery of the Tsugaru Strait). The route covers city landmarks like the Aomori International Cruise Terminal ⇨ Aspam Tourism and Product Center ⇨ Aomori Bay Bridge ⇨ Hakodate Ferry Hakko-dama ⇨ Aomori Marina ⇨ Aomori City Forest Museum ⇨ Aomori Prefectural Government Building, making for a fun route to run.

Drawing GPS art on mountain trails is difficult because there are limited routes, but the feeling of accomplishment when you finish is all the more impressive. Precisely because it’s a mountain, I try to create interesting GPS art while staying on the trails and footpaths. Since I began making my GPS art, I’ve been rediscovering the greatness of the Nazca people.
