This is a series of GPS art courses that draw the place name “Yashio” in Yashio City, Saitama.
Yashio City was created in 1956 through the merger of three villages: Hachijo (八條), Ushiotome (潮止), and Yawata (八幡). The place name “Yashio (八潮)” was derived from the initial letters of the three merged villages. The area’s proximity to central Tokyo led to its transformation into a bedroom community during the high growth period of the Showa era (1926-1989), and the Tsukuba Express train service opened in 2005, further accelerating development.
