GPS art of the place name “Asao” drawn in Asao Ward✨
This is a series of GPS art courses that draw the place name “Asao” in Asao Ward, Kawasaki.
In 1982, the district was divided from Tama-ku to form Asao-ku. The name of the district is said to have originated from the area where linen cloth has been produced since the 8th century. The name “Taro Asao (麻生太郎)” used to appear in the name field of the application form at the ward office, but this was replaced by the name of the prime minister of the same name “Taro Aso (麻生太郎)”.
The work depicts a large-scale commercial district centered on Shin-Yurigaoka Station and the surrounding residential area. The route is somewhat undulating, with many twists and turns.
