GPS art of a tiger drawn on one of the oldest shrines in Oita✨
Kasuga Taisha, a shrine that occupies a vast site in Oita City, was founded in 860 during the Heian period (794-1185) with the spirit of Kasuga Taisha in Nara. During the New Year’s visit season, a big drum is beaten at midnight on New Year’s Day, and worshippers traditionally clap their hands in unison. On the first three days of the New Year, 300,000 people visit the temple.
