It is one of the most prestigious residential areas in Saitama Prefecture, and is also the center where Saitama Prefectural Government, Saitama City Hall, Saitama Resona Bank, and TV Saitama are concentrated.
When Saitama City was established, the then Urawa City Hall became the main building of Saitama City Hall because it was the youngest of the three former city halls and had the largest total floor space.
Urawa used to be developed as an inn town (Urawa-juku) along the Nakasendo Road, and developed when the prefectural government moved from Iwatsuki in the Meiji era (1868-1912). Especially after the Great Kanto Earthquake, the area developed in terms of commerce and culture due to the influx of people from Tokyo.
In addition to the prefectural government and city hall, this greedy course allows you to visit office, residential, and downtown areas.
