GPS art depicts “Saitama Pose” at the sacred site of a Japanese popular anime✨
November 14 is Saitama Citizens’ Day! This is a course where you can draw “Saitama Pose” with GPS art, which is what you should do if you are a resident of Saitama Prefecture.
It is said that the name “Kasukabe” came from the Kasukabe clan who became lords of the area in the far middle ages. During the Edo period (1603-1867), Kasukabe flourished as a post town on the Nikko Kaido highway, and in the Meiji period (1868-1912), the Tobu Railway opened in the area. Around the middle of the Showa period (1926-1989), the population grew as a suburb of Tokyo, and residential complexes were developed along the railroad line, leading to the present day. The city became the setting for the nationally known anime “Crayon Shin-chan” and has become a well-known city nationwide.
Walking around Kasukabe Station and stitching through the residential area, one can draw the “Saitama Pose no Te”. Residents of Saitama Prefecture are welcome, of course, but those from outside the prefecture are also welcome to give it a try!
