The third GPS art piece in Hokuou Forest Park depicts the image of space.
It depicts Elliott, the main character from the movie E.T., and E.T. flying through the sky on a bicycle. To represent space, the bicycle wheels symbolize the Earth and the Moon, while the large circle on the opposite side represents the Sun. The trajectory of the planets’ orbits ended up being distorted and did not form an ellipse, but we’ll just say that this is because a black hole appeared and caused a distortion in space-time.

Drawing GPS art on mountain trails is difficult because there are limited routes, but the feeling of accomplishment when you finish is all the more impressive. Precisely because it’s a mountain, I try to create interesting GPS art while staying on the trails and footpaths. Since I began making my GPS art, I’ve been rediscovering the greatness of the Nazca people.
