GPS art on the historic castle ruins✨
GPS art of cherry blossoms in Matsugasaki Park, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture.
Matsugasaki Park is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, and is a historical park developed on the ruins of the main citadel of Yonezawa Castle. In spring, about 200 cherry trees are in full bloom, turning the entire park a beautiful pink color. The rows of cherry trees, mainly Someiyoshino, are reflected on the surface of the water in the moat, creating a picturesque scene.
The cherry blossom season usually runs from mid-April to late April, and the “Yonezawa Cherry Blossom Festival” is held, with fantastic cherry blossoms lit up at night. Food stalls selling Yonezawa beef and local specialties are also set up, which may also be recommended. This park, where history and nature are in harmony, is a spot where you can enjoy a stroll while feeling the arrival of spring🌸
