GPS art of a snake drawn at one of Miyagi’s most popular Hatsumode spot🐍✨
This GPS art course takes you to the area around Kanahebisui Shrine, a Miyagi’s spot associated with snakes, where you can draw a snake, the animal of the Chinese zodiac.
Kanahebisui Shrine, located in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, is known for prayers for prosperity in business, financial fortune, and abundant harvests. It has been affectionately called “Kanahebi-sama” since ancient times, revered as a deity associated with snakes, which are believed to govern water and bring fertility. Sacred springs flow within the shrine grounds, and visitors are said to receive blessings by touching this holy water. In spring, beautiful peonies bloom, making the shrine a popular spot for worshippers and flower enthusiasts alike.
Since 2025 is the Year of the Snake, Kanahebisui Shrine may become a popular spot. Please try it during your first visit to the temple🐍✨
