This GPS art course traces a symbolic “horse” shape while you explore the historic grounds of Soma Nakamura Shrine, where the Nomaoi departure ceremony takes place.
The 10km route leads you past key cultural landmarks including Soma City Hall, the atmospheric Soma Nakamura Castle Ruins, scenic Baryō Park, and Soma Station, blending tradition, nature, and local life.
Facing the Pacific Ocean, Soma has fostered a deep bond with horses since ancient times. As you run, the scenery evokes the spirit of samurai warriors and gallant horses charging across grassy plains.
