Sasahara River Senbonzakura is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot along Sasahara River that runs through Koriyama City. More than 1,000 Someiyoshino cherry trees are planted along a 2-km stretch of the river, creating a magnificent cherry blossom tunnel in spring. When the cherry trees are in full bloom, the beautiful reflections on the surface of the river attract visitors.
The cherry blossom season usually lasts from early to mid-April. The “Senbonzakura Festival” is held from early to mid-April, featuring food stalls and other events. At night, the cherry blossoms are illuminated, creating a fantastic night scene along the river. This is a spot where you can relax and enjoy the cherry blossoms in a peaceful setting🌸
