A Snail-Shaped GPS Art Walk Through the Historic Land of Koma Shrine🐌
Introducing a 10km GPS art route in the shape of a whimsical snail, drawn around the historic Koma Shrine in Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture. Koma Shrine is a rare Shinto shrine dedicated to the descendants of Goguryeo people who migrated from the Korean Peninsula over 1,300 years ago. This area is rich in the legacy of ancient continental culture, offering a unique blend of history and nature.
Surrounding the shrine are peaceful rice fields and mixed woodlands—ideal for leisurely walks while enjoying the seasonal scenery. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom in full glory; in early summer, a tunnel of fresh green foliage offers a refreshing path. As you walk the course, you’ll also hear the gentle murmur of the Koma River, adding a soothing rhythm to your steps.
Creating a snail-shaped GPS artwork while walking through a place where culture and nature harmoniously coexist offers a heartwarming and refreshing experience. Why not leave your own artistic trace in this culturally rich and serene setting?
