A Snail-Shaped GPS Art in a Lush Forest Park🐌
Chikozan Park in Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, is a spacious urban park that preserves the natural atmosphere of the Musashino region while providing well-maintained recreational areas. This 8-kilometer GPS art course in the shape of a snail invites walkers to trace a spiral route through nature and culture.
Established in 1979, Chikozan Park is a city-run comprehensive park featuring a wide range of facilities, including a petting zoo called “Kodomo Doubutsuen,” a colorful iris garden, and a rose garden. The park’s natural features, such as woodland trails and ponds, take full advantage of the gently rolling terrain of the Musashino Plateau.
Chikozan Park is beloved by locals as a place for strolling, sports, and learning throughout the seasons. Walking the snail-shaped route, which winds gently like the curl of its shell, offers a refreshing experience for both body and mind—perfect for those seeking exercise or a moment of peace in nature.
