GPS art of a snake, drawn at a Hatsumode spot in Hokkaido🐍✨
This GPS art course takes visitors to the area around Abuta Shrine, a famous Hatsumode (New Year’s visit) spot in Hokkaido, where you can draw a snake, the animal of the Chinese zodiac.
Abuta Shrine in Toyako Town, Hokkaido, is located on the dragon vein that runs from Rishiri Fuji to Komagatake, and has a deep connection with the white snake. Since a white snake once inhabited the back of the shrine, and since it is said that a white snake once served the deity Inari no Mikami, amulets with a picture of a white snake are awarded. The shrine is also known as a power spot because of the phenomenon of a white snake appearing in the snow at the torii gate, and many worshippers visit to thank the shrine for their wishes that have come true.
In 2025, Abuta Shrine may become another popular spot. Please try it during your first visit to the shrine🐍✨
