This GPS art course takes you to the area around Iwakuni Shirohebi Shrine, a Yamaguchi’s spot associated with snakes, where you can draw a snake, the animal of the Chinese zodiac.
Iwakuni Shirohebi Shrine is located in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and enshrines the “Iwakuni White Snake (shirohebi),” which is designated as a national natural treasure. This white snake, with its white body color, has been revered by local people as an animal of good luck since ancient times. The white snake is believed to bring fortune, prosperity, and happiness, and attracts many worshippers from all over the country. Along with the protection of the white snake, the shrine has inherited the belief in the snake as a sacred symbol and is also attracting attention as a tourist attraction.
